Midnight Dancers
Explores the tumultuous life and unconventional loves of “macho dancers” — male prostitutes who work as dancers and hustlers in Manila’s gay bars. A more chaste and unrefined take on these young men than Lino Brocka’s luridly watchable Macho Dancers, the tale begins when young country-bred Sonny (David) rejoins his family in Manila. He learns that his two brothers both earn a living dancing and prostituting themselves. Sonny becomes intrigued by the scene and begins to work there, ultimately beginning an affair with a sultry transvestite. (Filipino with English subtitles)
